Here are some suggestions that will help you expand your options and support your nutritional goals as well!

One last note: I am an avid gardener. Even though my plot is small, I have enjoyed zucchini, lettuce, carrots, potatoes, peppers and tomatoes. This year I just harvested 2 dozen bulbs of garlic! I am also growing herbs for the very first time! Having a garden is also a great excuse to play in the dirt! 🍅

Fermented Foods

Fermented foods give us valuable active enzymes that are beneficial for our microbiome. They provide beneficial bacteria while giving us a delicious tart flavor profile to our meals.

ADD FERMENTED FOODS

Homemade Vegetable Broth

Uses:

❊ Sauté foods in broth instead of oil

❊ Use as a base for sauces

❊ Cook grains with your broth

Store:

Keeps in the refrigerator for 4 days

! Freezing keeps it good for 4-6 months !

Don't throw out those left-over veggies! 🥕

In just a few minutes, you be ready to make your own broth! It's easy, quick & delicious! This is also a great way to boost valuable electrolytes. Store-bought broth must be pasteurized, which destroys so much of the nutritional content. 👎🏼
